Biography

In my role as a Financial Advisor, I have over 10 years of experience partnering directly with clients to help them achieve their financial goals. From a young age, I was inspired to follow in my father's footsteps to pursue a career in Finance. I have always been passionate about Wall Street and learning to understand what differentiates great companies and identify secular shifts within the economy.

Since joining the Traverse City office in 2015, I have been part of a team with my Father, Mark Spencer – who has over 38 years of industry experience, along with Operations Manager, Leslie MacKinnon. We pride ourselves on developing customized strategies tailored to each clients' individual needs, and providing superior customer service.

Many of our clients have been with us for 3 or 4 generations, and we work hard to build trust within our clientele to make them feel comfortable recommending us to their family and friends. Whether it’s building a financial plan, generating investment income in a low-interest rate world, building a growth portfolio, setting up small business retirement plans or college savings plans, the team has the comprehensive knowledge and resources to manage your account.

Both Mark and myself rigorously research company and industry trends to identify opportunities to invest in the growth of disruptors, innovators and businesses that seek to capture opportunity within emerging areas of the economy.

Born and raised in Traverse City, I understand the opportunities, challenges and needs of clients from communities in Northern Michigan. I have lived in Traverse City for over 10 years since studying at the University of Michigan, and living in the Bay Area and Denver. My wife Judy and I take personal pride in raising our three sons Brayden, Cason, and Dylan. In my free time, I enjoy exercising, being on the water, basketball, golf, and coaching my son’s sports teams.
