Bob Brown

Managing Director, Financial Institution

Bob Brown is a Managing Director at Wedbush Securities and has over 20 years of investment banking experience.  Bob covers a broad range of companies in the financial services sector, including fintech, banks, thrifts, specialty lenders, insurance companies and others. Prior to joining Wedbush, Bob was a senior banker in the financial services practice at Goldman Sachs and was previously Senior Managing Director and Head of U.S. Depositories at FBR.

Bob has broad based M&A and capital markets experience, including public and private equity, common and preferred equity, IPOs, follow on offerings, secondary sales, recapitalizations, ATMs, 144A offerings and range of fixed income and convertible products.

During the Global Financial Crisis 2008-09 and ensuing recession, Bob was on the front lines executing a range of recapitalization transactions, mergers and failed bank acquisitions. He advised on some of the sector’s most prominent transactions, including advising Countrywide Financial on its sale to Bank of America.

Bob also possesses significant operating experience. He served as CFO and ran finance and corporate development operations at several fintech startups backed by leading private equity and venture capital firms such as Andreessen Horowitz, World Innovation Lab and others.

Bob is a former CPA, having previously worked in the assurance practice at PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

He received a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Southern California and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
