Craig Pirtle is Senior Vice President, Head of Business Development and Expansion Markets at Wedbush Securities. Founded in 1955, and built on a culture of entrepreneurship and innovation, Wedbush remains an independent, family-owned, fully diversified, self-clearing financial services firm and a true American success story. Craig joins Wedbush’s Wealth Management division to advance the firm’s growth strategy and internal and external development, remaining committed to his morals of basing each and every one of his decisions on quality and integrity.

Craig’s interest in financial services was sparked by his uncle who was heavily invested in the stock market. He recalls waking up on Saturdays to read the Wall Street Journal with him, and it was this experience that grew Craig’s interest in international events and worldwide politics, and the effects that these events have on the performance of the stock market. This interest ultimately led him to join the military, and he credits this same interest as his pull to join the financial services world upon the conclusion of his service. With his world-wise cultural exposure and his deep passion for finance, Craig brings a new, educated perspective to every room he enters.

With over 25 years of experience in the financial services industry, Craig formerly held executive roles at B. Riley Wealth Management, Nearside Asset Management Services, Morgan Stanley and Wells Fargo. He has been familiar with Wedbush since the start of his career, due to an encounter with Founder, Ed Wedbush, a national conference. It was here that Craig was exposed to the beginnings and evolution of Wedbush Securities.

After serving in the U.S. Army in the 2nd Infantry Division, Craig’s passion for assisting veterans grew and has shaped his life today. When he is not at work, you can find Craig exploring New England, the place he has long called home, or volunteering with Wounded Warriors Family Support, of which he’s served on the Board for over 15 years. He also enjoys all outdoor activities, including hiking and horseback riding, but Craig’s greatest joy comes from spending time with his family.

John’s focus is helping business owners and retirees accumulate and preserve wealth for retirement. In addition, John works closely with those individuals in achieving their income needs through personal fixed income portfolios.

The Investment Advisory Process

John emphasizes an investment advisory process to help him determine the appropriate risk level for each of his clients prior to making any investment recommendations. An investment policy statement is the first step in helping to determine the risk level and suitability for his clients. This statement is based off a series of questions regarding risk and return. Next, John would need to evaluate his client’s investment objectives for their retirement plan. The investment policy statement would help him determine what those objectives are. Time horizon is another critical piece in developing a successful retirement plan. To determine an appropriate time horizon, the client’s age, liquidity needs and years to and during retirement need to be carefully considered.

The second step in the investment advisory process would be to develop an asset allocation model. There are several asset classes that are available through different investment platforms to meet the needs of each client through Wedbush Securities.

The third step in the investment advisory process involves implementing high quality investments through Wedbush Securities to meet the asset allocation process.

The last step in John’s process would be to effectively communicate with his clients on an ongoing basis through one on one private meeting.
