James Carlson

Biography

James Carlson is Managing Director, Investments Portfolio Manager with the Redstone Wealth Management Group within Wedbush. He works closely with individuals and families to create tailored investment strategies that align with their priorities and support their long-term financial aspirations. With a disciplined approach to wealth management, James helps clients navigate complex financial decisions through customized portfolio construction, strategic asset allocation, and comprehensive financial planning. He is committed to building lasting relationships and providing personalized guidance that evolves alongside each client's changing needs and objectives.

Before joining Wedbush in 2026, James spent time at UBS Financial Services and Morgan Stanley. Throughout his career, James has developed extensive experience in discretionary portfolio management, asset allocation, liability management, and cash flow planning. In addition to serving clients, James has played a leadership role in shaping team strategy and overall direction, helping deliver a consistent and comprehensive wealth management experience.

James earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Brigham Young University and an MBA from High Point University and is also a Portfolio Manager. Away from the office, James enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, traveling, wake surfing, skiing, golfing, and pursuing his passion for photography.
