Jeff Smits

Biography

I am passionate about the markets and assisting my clients with pursuing financial success. My business philosophy aims to cultivate, grow and pass on wealth to successive generations and charitable organizations. As a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC®), I focus intently on the most common need for clients: financial planning for their future and retirement.

With upwards of 18 years in the finance industry, I joined Wedbush Securities, as I believe the firm best equips me to manage my client portfolios and assist my clients in working towards their specific financial
goals. Prior to joining Wedbush in 2023, I started my career in finance at Morgan Stanley, before moving to Stifel Nicolaus. After nine years there, I moved to Edward Jones for seven years before moving to Wedbush.

Through my planning process, I work closely with specific professionals in various areas, including estate attorneys, certified public accountants, and more. With these connections and knowledge, I look to supplement my personal experience to provide clients with a ‘team’ of diverse professionals working together diligently for the common good of my clients.

Born and raised in Southern California, I graduated with my bachelor’s degree from Cal State University, Fullerton. After a nearly eight-year stint in Boise, ID, my family and I now call Orange County, CA home. Outside of the office, I thoroughly enjoy spending time with my wife of twenty years and our three children.
