The third annual Wedbush Hermosa Beach Open came to a close Sunday after four days of competition on the South Bay sand, with Kelly Cheng and Megan Kraft and Andy Benesh and Taylor Crabb taking home the 2026 titles.
What began with 32-team men’s and women’s main draws came down to four teams per gender on Championship Sunday, following a weekend of upsets, contender’s-bracket runs and unbeaten pushes through the winner’s side.
Women’s Championship Sunday
Championship Sunday opened with a comeback on the contender’s side as Megan Rice and Reka Orsi Toth battled back to defeat Brecht Piersma and Molly Shaw in three sets, extending a run that began with the pair facing elimination on Saturday.
On the winner’s side, Kelly Cheng and Megan Kraft continued their unbeaten weekend with a straight-set victory over Savvy Cory and Devon Newberry to claim the first spot in the championship match. The true double-elimination format gave Cory and Newberry one more opportunity, and they responded with a straight-set semifinal win over Rice and Orsi Toth to earn a rematch for the title.
In the championship match, the #2 seed Cheng and Kraft swept Cory and Newberry to complete an undefeated run through the main draw. For Cheng, it marks a third consecutive Hermosa Beach Open title after winning in 2024 and 2025 with two different partners — making her the first woman to win three straight since Karolyn Kirby and Liz Masakayan did it from 1993 through 1995. Kraft’s victory completes a three-year climb up the podium after finishing second in 2024 and third in 2025.

Men’s Championship Sunday
Chase Budinger and Trevor Crabb kept their title hopes alive to open the day, defeating Seain Cook and Leon Luini to advance out of the contender’s bracket and into a semifinal against Andy Benesh and Taylor Crabb.
Benesh and Crabb had dropped their first match of the tournament earlier that morning to Jacob LaBouliere and Miles Partain, but responded in the semifinal with a three-set win over Budinger and Crabb to earn a rematch for the championship.
The title match was cut short after LaBouliere suffered an injury and was unable to continue. Benesh and Crabb were awarded the 2026 championship, while LaBouliere and Partain finished as runners-up after an impressive run through the tournament. We wish Jacob LaBouliere a speedy recovery.
